Saturday 4th September
Fourteen Locks to Twmbarlum.
At about 12k this walk is longer than our usual walks. As usual the starting time
will be 10.00 am from the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre and we anticipate that we will
arrive back by 3.00 pm at the latest.
Walkers should be advised that while a large part of the walk is along the canal
towing path the approaches to Twmbarlum are steep. It is strongly advised that anyone
coming along for the day should wear robust walking shoes and also wear a good wind
resistant jacket. Bring a hot flask and some sandwiches for a rewarding midday snack.
Although it is a longer walk it is certainly very rewarding, the views are absolutely
stunning from many places along the route and there is of course a great sense of
achievement in getting to the top of Twmbarlum.
